After two decades working as a graphic designer, Gaughan retrained with an MA in Film Practice at Arts University Bournemouth and now also lectures at Birkbeck, University of London. The consultancy offers film and video production, including promotional videos, short films and documentaries, alongside screenwriting, logo and brand identity design, film posters, and exhibition and environmental design. Its short film The Cost of Silence, about domestic violence, has won Best Director honours at several festivals, and the documentary What Did You Do in the War, Grandad? won Best Documentary at another festival.
