Acton is the eastern end of the borough and the best connected part of it. Acton Main Line is on the Elizabeth line, Acton Town is on the District and Piccadilly lines, Acton Central is on the London Overground, and North, West and East Acton are all on the Central line. Very little of W3 is more than a short walk from a station.
Commercially it splits in two. Churchfield Road and the streets around Acton Central are independent and small scale: cafes, studios, shops and one person businesses. The northern edge runs into Park Royal, which is a very large industrial and manufacturing area and a completely different kind of business neighbourhood.
